Here’s a few answers for you

How long have you been a photographer?

• Check out my bio page for the full story. But in short, since high school or college, depending on your definition. I have been a full time wedding photographer in Asheville for the past ~15 years. I still learn something new at every single wedding so I know how much that experience matters. I didn't just attend some workshops and put up a website. Being a wedding photographer full time is a whole other level of skill and commitment and I couldn't imagine doing anything else.

We'd like to get to know you better, how can we do that?

• Easily schedule a very casual conversation anytime at this link. We can always move on to a video chat and if you’re ever in town I’d love to meet me at your favorite coffee shop or brewery. One of the best perks of this job is getting to meet so many fun new people and to work with you for years to come (yes, I’ve photographed many clients after the wedding who are back in town with their new little families.)

How can we get pricing information?

• First, I’m a big believer in giving my clients everything I would want if I was personally hiring a photographer, no filler line items, no surprises. So with that in mind my most popular packages include extensive wedding day coverage, two photographers, a beautiful online gallery to share with friends and family, and a high resolution download of all your edited photos, and an album credit. Wait, your packages all offer a minimum of 8 hours of wedding day coverage. Really?

• Absolutely. I never liked the idea of an early awkward "my time is up" interaction during an event as special as your wedding day. My clients typically have me start at one of two times: either when they feel ready for photos (dressed/makeup done) or when hair/makeup is in the more photogenic finishing stages. After that, assuming your timeline is like most, I’ll be with you to the very end!

That’s great but our event is actually much more intimate, similar to an elopement, but we still want killer photos and the attention to detail of a larger wedding.

• Micro weddings and elopements are some of my favorite events photographically. I love the variety of events I’ve photographed over the years and smaller events can be stunningly beautiful. Will you travel to photograph our wedding?

• Absolutely. I am fortunate that much of my work is within an hour of my home but I have photographed events from Chicago to New York to Florida and everything in between. Highlands, Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Greenville, SC are common destinations but an exact travel cost will be provided depending on the location of the wedding.

When do we get to see our photos?

• First, it’s important for me to share something with you as quickly as possible. I’m excited for you to see the photos and will send some kind of early selections to you, usually within the first few days. My standard turnaround for the full gallery is three weeks and I personally edit all my clients' photos. I don’t outsource and I don’t batch process photos with trendy presets that will be out of style next year. I’m extremely efficient but I take the time to do it right and I do not cut corners. Ever.

How do we receive our photos?

• I’ll send you both a link to your private and personal web gallery. From there you can download your entire set of high resolution files directly and can easily share the gallery directly with friends and family. It’s a beautiful visual presentation of your photos and very simple to use.

Tell us about the album process.

• There’s something incredibly important about an album. The personal memories of so many families wrapped up in one beautiful book, to be handed down through generations. My goal is for you to have a custom album from a professional printer that you wouldn’t be able to have otherwise and I want you to feel good about it every time you see it.

• The process is simple: pick your photos after which I’ll personally create a custom design and send it to you online. From there you can approve the design or easily request changes directly on the proofing website! After that most albums ship in 10 business days and they are simply stunning. I have used the same company for roughly a decade and have found nothing better. Real archival photographic prints (not ink dots,) high quality materials, and professional grade binding.

Can we schedule an engagement session?

• I would love that! And since most of my clients travel from out of town I make every effort to make scheduling them as easy as possible. Several of my Packages include at least one session and we can head out into the mountains or stick around Asheville. Sometimes even exploring your venue works great for these sessions and extended travel is also available if you’d like me to come to you.

Do you have liability Insurance?

• Yes. I am insured through the Hartford Insurance Agency, and a copy can be provided for your venue if necessary.
